The City of Pines flickers with a gorgeous style of wonderful magic in December. Last Friday, I set off to Baguio (for 4 days) as I usually do every December with some mates. 4 days of having fun with my friends, visiting my favorite places and spots, I could never be more excited and jumpy. I’ve been telling this a million times with my friends and colleagues—I so love Baguio. Ahhh! The chilly breeze that touches my skin, the greens through the fences and lawns, the lights strung along doorways and balconies and benches. The entire thing feels blithe and jolly.
I've always dreamed of
living in Baguio City. The oomph, the art, the chaos — I love it all. So,
what’s one of the greatest parts of my recent spree? Roaming along random
streets with Jackie and Lhot—and yeah Dexter (who tried to catch up on our last
day). We had our itinerary printed just before we leave Makati, but of course
no matter how packed our schedule, we should always pencil in some time for
ourselves, hehehe —itins needs to be changed a little bit. But those changes
made our feeling puffed up to the nth degree.
We tried boating at the
Burnham Park- I’m a little nervous knowing that I have these 2 ladies with me
who doesn’t know how to make this creepy-clackity-thing move. Lhot grabbed the
paddle and tried her luck—but we we’re just circling around. So we had no
choice but to ask someone to row it for us, of course we have to pay him for
the 30min ride plus a little tip but yeah, it’s worth it.
By now I've been captivated by The Manor. I love the suites, the lights, and the garden and of course the happy faces of the people around. The hotel staffs are nice and approachable. I was extremely blown away by the kinds of friendships that make you feel light and valiant and altogether understood.
We tried Glenn 50’s Diner;
an old diner located in General Luna Road. We basically high-fived our way
through every park and restaurant and street, and it was perfect.
We hopped through
La Trinidad to see the ever famous strawberry farm and to experience strawberry
picking. We tasted the best wines that the locals offer and make. I just bought
few bottles as it’s a little heavy and I don’t wanna risk those bottles in an
8hour trip plus I have to travel back to Laguna—see how risky that would be.
But yeah, elegance can now be as simple as having a supply of these wines in
the house. J
It was much cooler last
year, but that’s fine. I still love the weather there versus the weather here
in the Metro. I have a lot to share about Baguio-- Jackie and Lhot and Dex and
late nights at Burnham and Session Road—There are more to see and eat! Stay tuned
for my next post :)
xx
